Each week international students and their host child will go on our Friday excursion to famous cities or popular attractions. Students will enjoy the best that England has to offer with visits to cultural sights and attractions. We’ll also bring the excursions into the classroom with projects and work based around the places we visit to gain context and understanding of the significance of the locations.
During a two-week course, students will go on two full day excursions in total. After you have booked and in the run up to the summer, you will be asked to pick which excursions the student would like to go on from a shortlist for each week. No matter what dates a student attends they will have the opportunity to visit London and Oxford should they wish to.
Excursions may include:
- Bournemouth beach day
- Cadbury World
- Chessington World of Adventures (Theme park)
- London – Buckingham Palace tour
- London – Covent Garden and ride on the London Eye
- London – Tower of London
- Oxford with punting and Oxford University College Tour
- Thorpe Park (Theme park)
- Warner Bros. Harry Potter Tour (limited places)
- Warwick Castle
Example London Trip
London – Covent Garden and ride on the London Eye
Students and staff will be dropped off in central London where they will walk to Covent Garden via Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square. Whilst in Covent Garden they will have time to watch the world famous street performers and the opportunity to shop and soak up the atmosphere. They then walk down to the south bank for their ride on the London eye before boarding the coach back to Cothill.
